The NickServ Commands

NickServ allows you to register your nickname and much more.

SET: Sets various nickname options. option can be one of as under:

DISPLAY: /nickserv set display new-display
Changes the display used to refer to your nickname group in Services. The new display MUST be a nick of your group.

 

EMAIL: /nickserv set email address
Associates the given E-mail address with your nickname. This address will be displayed whenever someone requests information on the channel with the info command.

 

GREET: /nickserv set greet message
Makes the given message the greet of your nickname, that will be displayed when joining a channel that has GREET option enabled, provided that you have the necessary access on it.

 

HIDE: /nickserv set hide {EMAIL|USERMASK|QUIT} {ON|OFF}
Conceal pieces of information from being displayed when someone does a NickServ INFO check on your nick.

KILL: /nickserv set kill {ON|QUICK|IMMED|OFF}
Turn on or off the automatic protection.

 

PASSWORD: /nickserv set password new-password
Changes the owner identify password.

 

PRIVATE: /nickserv set private {ON|OFF}
Turn on or off NickServ privacy.

 

SECURE: /nickserv set secure {ON|OFF}
Turn on or off NickServ security.

 

URL: /nickserv set url url
Set a URL with your nickname.

 

(Nick names that are not used for 30 days may automatically get deleted by the IRC server)

NICKSERV: Register and Identify your nick name.

ALIST: /nickserv alist
Lists your access channels.

 

DROP: /nickserv drop nickname
Drops your nickname from the NickServ database.

 

GHOST: /nickserv ghost nick password
Removed the nick from the server

 

GLIST: /nickserv glist
Lists all nicks in the group.

 

GROUP: /nickserv group target password
All the nicknames of a group have the same password.

 

IDENTIFY: /nickserv identify password
NickServ will know that you are the own

Example: /nickserv identify mySecretpassword

 

INFO: /nickserv info nick ALL
Displays information about the nickname

 

LOGOUT: /nickserv logout
This reverses the effect of the IDENTIFY command

 

RECOVER: /nickserv recover nick password
Allows you to recover your nickname if someone else is using it.

 

REGISTER: /nickserv register password email
If its not already taken you can Register your nickname in the NickServ database.

Example: /nickserv identify mySecretpassword myEmail@abc.com

 

RELEASE: /nickserv release nick password
NickServ will remove any hold on your nickname..


ACCESS: Modifies or displays the access list for your nick.

Send an IDENTIFY command to make NickServ recognize you as the owner.

 

Example:
/nickserv ACCESS ADD abc@*.simple.com

 

ADD: /nickserv access add mask
DEL: /nickserv access del mask
LIST: /nickserv access list

STATUS: /nickserv status nick.
Display information about the nick name.
